Welcome! If you’re looking for exercise classes for the over 60s, you’ve found the right place! At the Young At Heart Keep Fit Club our aim is simple; to help you improve your flexibility, balance and strength so that you can enjoy your life and do all the things you like to do; whether that’s sporting and leisure activities, playing with your grandchildren, gardening, not to mention the fundamental of maintaining independent living.
Exercise for the over 60s is vitally important to everyday activities with ease. The Young At Heart Keep Fit Club has designed our unique exercise classes for the over 60s with this at the centre of our approach; promoting greater flexibility, balance and strength. We believe that exercise for older adults offers many additional benefits, and our exercise classes in Hove, Portslade and Lancing are a must-attend for those seeking to make the most out of later life.
Our exercise classes are run by two qualified personal trainers; Ty Paul and Gav O’Brien, one leading the class, the other helping give personal tuition where needed, so that you can get the most out of the exercises. We like to keep our exercise for older adults classes open to a wide range of abilities with seated options for all exercises. We encourage you to workout at your own pace, in a friendly, uncompetitive way.
Each of our exercise for the over 60s classes start with a head to toe warm-up of all your major joints so that you can safely work out. We promote good posture, strength and conditioning of your legs and shoulders using resistance bands, as well as incorporating exercises that aim to improve your balance. Each exercise for older adults class ends with a good stretch out that will help improve your flexibility and reduce the effects of delayed onset muscle soreness.
At Young At Heart Keep Fit Club classes we like to be social! Following the exercise class, there’s a tea and coffee break where you can make and meet new friends and or catch up with your other friends. Plus, there’s an opportunity to ask your trainers for advice on exercise and nutrition to help you lead a more active and healthy lifestyle. The price for all the above – just £5 per class!
